The Classroom as a Spatial Learning World — Let's Build It Together

Our feasibility study brings together schools, museums, and creators. We're testing how immersive presentations can enrich classroom teaching — openly, collaboratively, and with real-world practicality. Funded by the IGP – Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneer Solutions.

Hands-on workshops: how to use XR in the classroom with real pedagogical purpose and practical entry points — with a realistic setup and hands-on approach.

For Educators

What the Study Is About

We're exploring how learners can present knowledge spatially — together with teachers, museums, and content creators. The goal is a robust approach that fits into everyday school life.

What We're Investigating

How can existing materials — 360° photos, 3D models, videos — be turned into usable XR content and pedagogically sound mini-modules? What workflows work within realistic school timeframes? How does a teacher orchestrate multiple headsets in a room?

We document methods, pitfalls, and best practices — openly shared, so others can build on our findings quickly.

Why Now

XR hardware is becoming accessible, but the reality of classroom life is complex. This study translates potential into practical workflows: clear, repeatable, and compatible with open standards. The room becomes a canvas — without losing the social dynamics of the classroom.

Community

We see this study as a network project. Schools share findings, museums open their collections, creators bring production know-how. The result: reusable learning worlds — curated, remixed, and expanded.

How to Participate

You can contribute as an operator of the app ecosystem, as a museum or creator making content accessible, or as a teacher running workshops. Detailed information is available on the sub-pages — the study brings everything together and supports your entry.

Why Get Involved?

Fast Entry

Clear formats, short paths: from idea to a presentation-ready XR tour.

Open & Sustainable

Open-source app ecosystem — self-hostable, extensible, and future-proof.

Build Together

A partner network of schools, museums, and creators — exchange and impact.

Teachers & Schools

Hands-on workshops for teachers and education professionals: how XR can be used in the classroom with real pedagogical purpose, practical setups, and headsets that actually work in a school context.

What it's about

  • A clear entry point — not just “wow,” but translated into real classroom practice
  • Formats and workflows that work within realistic time frames
  • Create your own small XR content and mini-modules, embedded pedagogically
  • Understand and reduce practical hurdles (tech, organization, setup)
  • Funded as part of the IGP feasibility study

Museums & Content Creators

Make digital collections pedagogically accessible — as learning modules for schools.

Your benefit

  • Open digital collections (3D objects, reconstructions) as learning modules
  • Direct access to schools — your content used in the classroom
  • Reusable learning worlds — curated, remixed, and expanded
  • Network partnership — exchange and impact

App Ecosystem (Open Source)

Like PowerPoint for 3D — build it together, self-hostable and future-proof.

Your benefit

  • Open source — self-hostable, extensible, customizable
  • Open standards — interoperable, auditable, portable
  • Build together — with schools, museums, and creators in the network
  • Future-proof — no vendor lock-in, content stays with you
